We have worked on several projects in which we evaluated "target" companies for quality, manufacturing efficiency, process improvement opportunities, and operational strengths and weaknesses.
Typically, we do this as part of a team doing "due diligence" on behalf of a private equity firm or large companies evaluating the feasibility and advisability of an acquisition or merger.
A "normal" project of this type usually involves on-site visits to the "target" company's location(s), documentation of their manufacturing and quality processes, evaluation of their product engineering (if applicable) and manufacturing engineering strengths and weaknesses. Usually, a detailed report of our findings and recommendations is the end result of our involvement in this type of project.
We are, of course, also available to work on a consulting or project basis, or as acting Quality or Engineering management, on-site to help turn-around troubled companies to ready them for sale or retention by the new owners.
